Jim, awesome capture of this fast bird. Love to see the top side and the beautiful BG. Loi
Superb pose captured in the image. I just think the bird is lacking a bit of detail. Was it a large crop?
Stunning capture Jim, but IQ is not as expected for a 1Dx file . No sharpness /clarity and detail. Very large crop ?

The softness is due to imperfect panning. The Falcon was moving at 200+ MPH and my shutter speed wasn't enough to freeze it. Since the bird was not moving exactly parrallel to my panning motion I couldn't freeze the motion at 1/1600.
Really challenging capture on a non-sky BG! That 1Dx can handle ISO 1600-3200 with ease!
Great incoming flight shot, Jim. Love the pose and background.
As challenging as a BIF gets, so good job even getting the bird in the frame. I have been shooting falcons for over 25 years, and in a stoop, it is sooo freakin hard with a DSLR.
Looks like a looser comp and a bit of selective sharpening to the head will help this one get to it's maximum potential.
Another nice Prairie image. BFAM
