Drove from Ottawa to Montreal to pick up my daughter, she was coming home for a few days at Christmas.
It was a perfect chance for me to search for Snowy Owls. Leaving a few hours early gave me time to check out the usual Owl holding areas.
They did not disappoint.
I used Nik Silver Effects Pro on this image which gives it almost a 3d look. Then I copied and pasted the colored eye back in, looks sinister.
Some of you may find the image dark but that's the way I like it....uh-huh uh-huh
Thanks for looking.....

Paul, I'm glad you like that way! First thing that hit me was the softness of the shadows (off white). Draws me in and is very powerful. Perfect light and comp! This one is special.

I totally envy your Snowy Owls! The yellow eye is a great focal point for this image. I like the minimalist look, both in color and composition. Nice diagonal lines of the roof and the implied diagonal of the owl looking back and down. Well done!

I completely agree with the two comments above. Wonderful composition, soft tones, great eye. Glad you found some Snowy Owls to photograph.

She looks a little devilish. Love the head turn and comp, and what is she (I think it is a she) thinking anyways!

I think it is great! love the eye contrasted with all the whiteness. (not dark at all...)

Very nicely composed with clean lines and curves. I like the colored eye (and the yellow in the border), but I'd be inclined to tone down the eye color a notch or two. Perhaps these words shouldn't be combined, but this image has a very elegant simplicity that I like a lot. I like the title, too.
