It's not all that often that I include a person -- or even part of one -- in an image. However, I couldn't resist asking permission to take the photos that resulted in this.

• Topaz Simplify -- saved watercolor preset
• Alien Skin Snap Art -- saved watercolor wash preset, Hard Light blend mode, 44% opacity, masked
• Nik Silver Efex -- 75%, masked off the painter and ladder
• copy of the Silver Efex layer -- Filter>Pixelate>Pointillize, Darker Color, 16%, same mask; This was to get the mostly green and magenta blobs on the background.
• zillions of adjustment layers of many types, most masked, various opacities
• Fractalius -- three saved black & white presets, Multiply, two masked and one also blurred, various opacities
• Snap Art -- saved black & white Line Art preset, Multiply, 38%
• Simplify -- saved black & white edges preset, Multiply, 78%
• Belle Fleur texture -- Screen, also 78%

Interesting image as always Dennis, and I can really see all the work that went into it. I like the overall effect and the bright splashes of red, green, and gold that accent the otherwise muted tones. Very unique edge effects you achieve with your recipes, well done.

I KNOW this guy is painting! Well done!!

What a great idea, the story is all there. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. I love the processing here but have to admit that I really don't even recognise the plugins you have used, let alone how you have used them, I see a master class here. The nearest I get to thinking out of the box is a 3 shot HDR!!

Dennis, I am always in awe with the detailed steps you use and the totally integrated and impressive final image! This is great and the green and red blobs look totally happenstance but are key.

Ah yes, painting--something I do every summer. As always, love your outstanding processing. The splotches of color on the pants, etc. tell the story. I don't know if I'd have figured it out without the title. I like that you included only the legs and ladder.

With the paint on this pants, shoes, and ladder, that was the only way to go. Yesterday, though, I wished I'd taken another shot with the upper part of his body while he was painting the wall. If I had, I'd have done a non-rectangular image with him applying paint to the OOTB background. Oh, well. Something to add to the list.

Sorry I'm late Dennis but I love this image. Very whimsical and nicely processed as always. My favorite part is the upper right portion with the splashes of color:S3:

I really like the POV and the separation of figure from the BG. Well done Dennis.
