I have not yet been successful at achieving an image while panning, but I keep trying here and there. Yesterday was such an opportunity to keep trying...

It has been a long time since I saw an image that gave me the " heart flip".
I just love this.
Love the colors, the panned BG, the raindrops, the silvery lines on the water and the entire feel of this image.
I would suggest a bit off the top ~ 8% and a sliver off the bottom.
One of my favorite images on BPN this year. Congrats Enrique,
gail

Enrique I would certainly keep trying I don't know if the blurred vegetation is what you were trying to achieve but I like the finished image ,it's the sort of shot I like very much.

panning images are tough, bird here is too small for my taste and doesn't any detail, the key with panning is to get the head and eye sharp while capturing the a full wing stroke blur. I like the BG and the rain . I would go with 1/200sec - 1/500sec range as opposed to 1/50 when working with 500mm or more

Love the colors and the blurred line, but bird is too small in the frame and moving away from you. Keep trying though, it was a great effort. Loi

Loi, I should let Enrique reply I guess, but I have to say, the bird is definitely not moving away from him.
Not sure what you are looking at?

Thanks all for your comments. Interesting to see the extreme differences of opinion re this image... I'll keep trying, but I am glad some people liked it a lot... I also like it a lot.. ;)

This has great potential with this beautiful blurred BG--I'd try a tighter crop ---just enough, to the extent you can get away with it w/o losing too much detail in the bird, to let the pintail be a more dominant part of the image

Very very artistic image. If mine would crop at the bottom a bit.

Satish.

I don't comment here often, and post less, but this is too beautiful to pass without commenting.
I agree with cropping a bit off of the bottom, otherwise, I love it.

This is one heck of a kick butt image!!! Love how you thought outside the box and really gave us something unique on BPN.
