Not too often one gets to see one of the masters in action. Well captured Gabriela and superb image Andreas.
There is always someone who gets into shot, just when you don't need it. :bg3: Nice one Andreas, trust you took that 'vehicle damage' insurance cover. :w3
Thanks Gabriela for this !!!!
Great timing to get me into this action shot , i would have loved to have the Master in focus :bg3:, but we cannot have everything all the time .
Thanks Carl and Steve , yes took "full vehicle damage cover " just before the WB came that close .
At one point during that short session , i thought will they crash into my car . If the "old Master" would have been faster with changing kit i could have used the 16 - 35 mm lens and get pretty much a wide angle close to FF. But the "old Master " was simply too slow .:e3.
Again Gabriela a very BIG Thank You for being part of this , for me, successful and big fun trip , and i repeat i made new friends !!!!!!
Cheers Mr B.E.
Indeed Andreas, with that kit, out the passenger door and under the vehicle, now we are cooking. :cheers:Quote:

Steve can you imagine what film was running in my head after that session , close to your description , i guess you can .I love cooking these things
My pleasure Andreas:bg3:
It felt really good posting this, brought some memories... I enjoy sharing those special moments, not just for us who were there together but also for our friends who might like to know what it is like on those trips: what we see, and especially how the images were taken (circumstances, conditions, vehicles and camera kit, etc.). I took this image because I hoped you would get a stunner (being so close) and was planning all along to post it and show how Andreas operates in the field:) I have a few frames of this instance, I must say at some point the wildebeest got so close that I worried about you and your equipment. Whew, think about the amount of dust also, flying into your lens! I still remember the time we all sat down at the camp to clean our equipment...there was a lot more than "dust bunnies" on my lenses:S3:
Andreas, if Alison had some VT footage of the lion charge we face, me in the line of fire, I was certainly 'cooking', so I can appreciate the moment after, even without grey socks. :bg3:
:bg3::2eyes2: I am buying myself a pair of grey socks tomorrow...lucky grey socks, like Andreas's. Although not sure I will be able to wear them in February, too hot. Cooking hot:bg3:...
Hey Gabriela do not forget it was the very fashionable combo of grey socks and sandals
Sorry Andreas, that combo is never fashionable but fortunately for you we can't see it here. I thought maybe we were going to see your rig of the suspended camera. Nice one though Gabriela.
Hi Andreas
These two boyz were almost on your hood..! Lucky you , the fight came your way...! I have a few too of this spectacular fight with a white bakkie in it........:t3:2eyes2:
Wow! Can't complain about not being close enough to the action! :bg3: TFS
Christopher, it was so entertaining watching Andreas there with the wildebeest, we forgot about the action by the water hole in front of us:)
Thanks everyone for viewing, it was great fun sharing those moments with you:wave:
Wow now that's some action. Love it. Thanks for sharing
Thank you Cheryl:bg3:, love this Forum, it is great fun:w3
Kind regards,
Great fun - you really were close Andreas!
Miss the Kalahari already...
