Greetings and welcome from a new photographer in the UK
Hi there ladies and gents,
I thought I would take a moment to say a very respectful hi!
I've been a long time outdoorsman - fishing, shooting, some hunting...and now...like many before me I guess...I've put away the shotguns and taken up the camera.
My interests are birds, wildlife, landscape and some "specials" - like macro photography.
Having only been involved for a little while (3 months) and I am still getting my kit together and learning on the fly but I started off with a Canon 6D, a 24-70 F2.8 Tamron lens, and a Canon 70-200 F2.8 lens. I will likely add a 7D MKII to the array quite quickly and use the D6 for general pics, street/landscape/whenever its dark and dreary and once purchased the 7D MKII for birds.
Considering what my first "big birding" lens will be... given I like to walk/stalk (and already have a TC 2x) probably a 300 F2.8 but I will rent one of those first.
(I sold a couple of pricey shotguns and a rifle/scope to help fund all this :) - my experience in shooting gives me a long...long history of recognising the importance of good glass!)
Other hobbies - well I'm a geek by profession and that kind of invades all my passions..but includes cars, SciFi and of course computers.
Very keen, learning a lot along the way, enjoy the outdoors, the science and the art of photography.... fabulous stuff :)
OK - that's enough from me for now....
Hail and well met!
