Photographed in Alaska during September. I really wanted to emphasize the drama of the fall colors and the contrast with the dark pine trees. Once done, I like to think the varying streaks of blue in the foreground hint at the aurora. My idea of Alaska all summed up into one abstract image. :S3:
Very dramatic, and it almost looks like a forest fire. Love the processing and the colours. Nice work Nancy. Was this an image overlay? The white blurs and the in focus conifers make me curious.

Nancy:
Very dynamic indeed. Like the slight diagonal aspect of the streaks, and agree that it really made me think of a nightmare of a forest fire. I can almost smell it and hear the crackling.
Cheers

Thanks Jackie and Randy. No overlay, all part of the reconfiguration of the original through the Flaming Pear swerve. It is not easy to control the Flaming Pear software because the image is soooo small, but I was glad to keep the conifers recognizable and actually have a few of the white birch trees still visible.

Hi, Nancy, I immediately thought of forest fires. Great color and creative thinking:S3:

Love it! Holding that level of detail in the trees really makes it special.

I gather that Alaska is dramatic, bold, almost frightening.

I like this. There's a lot of color without the feel of over-saturation. A couple people have used the word, dramatic, and that fits it perfectly. I like how the black silhouette with the colored diagonals grounds the image. If this image sums up your feelings about Alaska, it reinforces my desire to see it, myself.
