I have become smitten with Algonquin Park. The original was made up of many small squares from actual shots, then converted to a colour, using filter> blur>average, and making it into a mosaic of sorts. Completely different for me, and I am sure not to everyones' taste.
I like the colors and the distribution of the different-sized rectangles. And I'm really glad you explained how you did it. Blur>Average is one of those things I'd seen in the drop-down list but never tried, and it has lots of potential. I'm curious to know if the shots of Algonquin Park you used in this image were all taken at about the same time and, if so, when that was. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I think the very modern take on this, making the colors almost Mondrian squares, is interesting. Wouldn't have thought of it as a park, a bit way out of the box, but hey, that's why we experiment, isn't it. Interesting approach. Glad you explained it, though, or I wouldn't have gotten the "park" thought.

Jackie, I am re-reading your steps to create this so I can experiment myself. Are you saying that each of those large and small areas is a separate photo from the park?
