One challenge for me in using a painterly filter is the loss of detail from the original. Capturing the detail is such a part of photography for me it's just hard to give it up to smudges and thick brush strokes. So this is, uh, therapy of sorts to get over the detail...
Topaz Impression - several layers colored pencil and Cezanne blended with the original. The colored pencil keeps some of the detail as a new texture. Toned down some misplaced bright spots with a blended fill layer.

A very nice drawing, love the grays, almost looks like crayon or pastel....my preference would be soften the edge out the arrowhead shape above (pointing left) the starshaped white center. Hope it ok, I did a blur and clone on the edge. Paul

I like the color combination and the fact that the bloom stands out from the background. The diagonal made up of the yellows and brighter greens in the background as well as the flower is very effective.
