Just spent four days up in Algonquin Park, and although the weather was not great I made the best of it. Convert to black and white in NIK SEP, and tried to bring out more detail in the rocks using detail extractor, and a bit of high pass sharpening. A sight gradient on the upper RHS. They are really quite black.
I like the strong primary diagonals and the opposing diagonal of the water line in the lower part of the image. There's great contrast between the moving water and the rocks. The effect of the shutter speed on the appearance of the water is very effective.
The tonal contrasts are wonderful You held the texture in the rocks perfectly.
Sweet, contrast between the sharp rocks and blurry water ( typed this before reading Dennis's post). Very nice composition. I might have worked a bit on the black bits on the left side of the center rock but that's just me. At least with all the rain the creeks must have been flowing. Were the leaves still up or are they mostly all past?
Leaves are pretty much past, just the tamaracks and the aspens giving last gasps of beautiful yellows.
This turned out great. That large center rock looks very imposing and is well framed between the two steaks of water. A great contrast of the solid and fluid, both in texture and motion/non-motion. And a good conversion to b&w, with attention to the rock details.
