Bird on white

Had play this morning any thoughts

Nicely done. I really like the composition and the fading of the wire on which the bird is perching. The white background is very effective. Probably part of the original background is still below the bird's beak; I'd clean that up if it were mine. Super image.

Greetings. I like the composition and the idea. This looks like a bit of a crop as the fine feather detail suffers a bit. I don't know what processing software you have but some work on the detail would be good. If it were mine I would run Nik Silver Efex for the structure adjustments available effecting luminance detail, localized contrast - sometimes called micro-contrast. Then blend back the color with layer blending, perhaps, soft light in PS. Topaz Detail would also work. Anyway some ideas. Thanks for posting. Oh, another trick is to increase the size of the image in PS preserve details sampling, detail some, then reduce size to original with bicubic sharper. Again, just a thought.

Hi, Grahame, I like the idea and the white background, the fading perch and the bird's pose. I agree that you need to do a little cleanup under the bird's beak and between and around the wire. Michael has some good suggestions on resizing.:S3:

A striking image. The bird stands out beautifully against the white bg. I like the composition and the simplicity of this photo. Others have commented on the need to clean up a few areas. What processing did you use?

I like the pose of the bird. (Is it a warbler?) Michael has some good suggestions about resizing, I look forward to a repost.

Grahame I'd heard about Silvereye's but have never seen one, this is an interesting image and I am going to go against the flow, I don't like that the fence disappears, I would like to see it all. It appears to be a very large crop so a bit more canvas all around would help...still a **** nice bird though...well done

Depends on what you are going for. A white background is rather stark, but, for some subjects can be effective. I think a white bg required a detailed subject. I can't tell the quality of this image because we have to make the files small. I'm more used to seeing bird with a bg other than plain white, but, I'm not a bird photographer. You could try adding a texture and see what you think.
