Living at 8,000 sometimes puts us in the clouds! Yesterday was such a day and there was mist on everything. This is a salsify plant turned abstract. I used a layers of fractalius, flaming pear tachyon, and topaz clean flowing curls, at various opacities.
I am leaving shortly for the airport heading north to Alaska. I'll be gone Sept 6 - 21. Wish me luck with all creatures great and small! I'll check in when I have a connection!

At first, i thought you'd rotated the image for composition, but -- based on the elongation of some of the drops -- it looks like the stalk may have broken. In either case, the lines leading from the upper left to the wonderful seed head are very effective. I like the earthy colors and the hint of other things in the background. You used some plug-ins I'm not familiar with. I'm going to have to take the lid off my Topaz Clean, which I may have never used, and remind myself of why I got it.
Enjoy your trip to Alaska.

Nancy,
Greetings. Very cool. I particularly like how the droplets magnify the texture. Might look interesting flipped into a circle. Thanks for posting. Have a great time in Alaska.
Cheers,

Very lovely. I love what you did with these dew drops. They look like drops of water connected by some type of delicate web. I like the dark bg, the angle of the plant, and the overall look. Hope you have a wonderful time in Alaska!

I thought it was a spiders web, lovely effects and perfect for the theme. Hope you get to see all the rarities in Alaska, some super birds there right now. My friend is in Gambel right now and will be in Nome later (he's up there for 40 days), he is just killing me with the life birds he's picking up. Have a great trip.

Beautiful effect!! I need to try to install Fractalius on my husband's ancient PC. (Wish it would run on a Mac.) And I'm with Dennis on Clean -- I got it because it was on sale, if I recall, and am not sure I've ever used it. I never got my head around their interface.

Gorgeous colors and textures, the implied webbing almost looks 3d which is a great contrast to the smoothness of the water and overall image. Enjoy your trip!

What an amazing abstract look you got with this one! I just love the fantastic organic look to the plant, it makes me think of a fantasy story illustration!
