Nice to get these guys a little more in the open. I like the fact that both were facing me. Conditions were very overcast but I think it worked out well.

Love the comp and eye contact on this pair here Dumay, granted the unfavourable lighting cond's well handled, overall colour looks nice & natural as well.:w3
Is this the new (Sports/USB cal)120-300 2.8 Sigma? Your thoughts Dumay?
Hi Dumay, great opening image, comp & IQ all good, as expected. Agree both light and having the heads facing to camera works. I also like the hint of blue sky creeping in on the trim edge and the bush to the left, for me it adds a tad more interest to the overall scene. Think you will enjoy the 5D compared to the MKIII, and the lens has fancily arrive I see, look forward to more.

Hi Dumay - Great to see you posting an image. They certainly gave you a very cooperative pose. Love the comp and straight on pov. You handled the overcast light well and brought out typical winter in the bush tones. IQ looks good from the new kit. I'm sure you are going to enjoy it.
TFS,
Rachel
Great to see you posting, mate. Lovely duo here, soft overcast light enhancing their textures nicely.
Agree with Steve - given the head angles you can shave some off the LHS.
PS: Congrats on the new gear - I think for a full time field guide the 120-300 f2.8 should be the near-perfect safari lens...:Whoa!:
Hey Dumay , back into business :5. I personally missed your images /comments and i am more than happy to see you posting .
I almost forgot how your processing was :bg3:. As good as it was .
Very nice head on shot of them , great that you got both looking at you . Overcast light helped to bring out nice detail in the shadows .Color/tones and contrast representing the conditions nicely , i would tend to boost it more , but yours looks really natural.
Hope for more and good luck with your new kit.
TFS Andreas
Hello Dumay!
Glad to see you post again, and what a great image this is! Recently I recently had an opportunity to take some images of rhino and calf but the little one kept running around between bushes, when he eventually settled his mom stepped in front of him:2eyes2:
Like Andreas said above, colours look very natural and you have some nice detail on the subjects, lovely pose from the two and especially the little one who seems almost "frozen", as if he is posing for you:w3. The environment present adds to the overall scene, although - as already suggested - you could perhaps crop a tad from the LHS, WDYT?
Your processing is great and I am happy to learn that you have some new "toys" to play with! Enjoy, I so look forward to more posts from you soon!
Kind regards,
Thanks guys...I am glad to be back and look forward to being more active again, so thank you for the warm welcoming back. I would be more than willing to try taking some off the LHS.
Marc I sent you a PM.
Dumay, this is nice. Love the head-on pose of the two, nice light as well and good details. TFS.
Would agree with the very natural colours, and not much to add.
If it were mine, I would look into the possibility of extracting a little more texture on the main subjects.
