Took this lifer for me on my great trip last spring to Florida with Doug Brown. Special thanks to Marina Scarr for guiding us in the right direction. This was taken on a nice afternoon at the North marsh of Fort De Soto state park. What a great spot to shoot shorebirds.
Thanks as always for looking and for your input. I appreciate it.

That's some great clear sunny light to capture this handsome shorebird in....excellent exposure and sharp details on the bird....I'm really enjoying the wing detail...Is the bg under the bird pure, or was there cloning done? The reason I ask is due to how patterned the sand bg more on the right hand side of the frame vs the left....regardless, it's a gorgeous frame. You are very talented at capturing BIF.

Thanks again everyone.
Shawn, that's pretty much the way it looked but I did do some minor clean up on the sand.
Thanks for your comment.

Hi David, love this flight pose showing the full downstroke of both wings. Not easy birds to expose, but you nailed that department well enough, and I do like the blue of the water in the BG. Well captured.

Lovely light and wing position on this male, David. Great feather details, and the two-tone BG works nicely!

Fantastic pose here, and good exposure control considering what looks like strong light on the "contrastily-plumaged" subject (not sure that's a word!). I was wondering the same as Shawn because of the tan sand extending up below the bill and neck. Thanks for the reply to his question. Strong image of a fun species to photograph!

About as technically proficient an Oystercatcher bif shot as I've ever seen, combined with great wing position and nice bg. No nits from me.
