This one is clicked some days back, interesting time with the equipment under the rainwear and me with a umbrella in one hand trying to make a image :S3:
, Bird is within the vicinity of its nest, normally uses around 3 to 4 stops before entering the nest and the pattern is really predictable and this can be made on any of those stop overs.
5D MIII + Canon 500 f4 L IS II
1/80, f6.3 , ISO 1250
exposed 1 stop down as i was blowing out the colours all the time
Noise reduction on BG
Attachment 143352
The bird is wet in rains and hence i find that the picture may look a bit over sharp to eye as the feathers are wet.
Welcome all critiques and comments helps me learn
cheers

Wonderful image Vishal, i love kingfishers and have shot a number of species in Thailand, but have yet to see one of these beaut's.
BG is nicely done, i don't think the bird is too sharp at all, and the colours are bang-on.
Would wish to have seen a bit more of a head lift, and if i was to be super critical (like i am with my own sometimes) i'd wish that the fish wasn't touching the bird like it is.

Wet feathers can sometimes be a pain when trying to reflect detail, but you've nailed this one Vishal! Beautiful colors, sharp as can be and the extra BG blur rounded it off perfectly. Two thumbs up!

Excellent image of beautiful bird on beautiful BG. Exposure spot on, tack sharp, nice pose.
Personally I would prefer tight crop for this pose, since there is lot of negative space in front of king fisher. Though composition looks beautiful.

Satish.

Hi Vishal, lovely colours that pop against the darker BG, and his catch a bonus. I would try a version moving the KF slightly more towards the center of the frame. I quite like the wet plumage.

Looks good Vishal. Colours are amazing and you got a very nice BG. I agree a better head turn would have been over-the-top, but OK as is. IS that a lizard or gecko?

Love that catchlight! The bird's colors are outrageous. I think the sharpening looks very good...razor, but not overly sharpened. Nice muted dark bg colors to show this beauty against. A sweet frame sir.

Nice frame Vishal. I love the colors on these little KFrs and The pose and the BG look great. A bit better HA would have been great but you lake what you can get, or your given. Nice mottled BG too. Well done
