Another frame of this relatively uncommon species, at least for our neck of the woods. Taken a few evenings ago in a local grassland. I was blocked by a bush when she came in out of the field to feed the youngster. By the time I could shift positions, she had turned around.

Nice 'mirror image' of the family Bill. I just wonder if dropping the yellow a fraction in selective colour may help the chest/body plumage?

Besides just being cool to look at...this image must have value in regards to an ID publication of some type. Very unique and well done on the fly. It's interesting to study the birds side by side, and now that I see the juvie next to the adult...it does indeed look more like a dickcissel to me :) Congrats on this memorable frame.

This is a very unique image Bill. By having both birds at the same pose you can easily spot the differences between adult and juvi. Great id image. Good detail and nicely blurred background. TFS
Liking this series very much, Bill. Wonderful IQ, lichen on branch, and to have both mother and youngster together is icing on the cake. Well done and keep them coming.
