Beautiful image Grace! I like the banking pose, exposure, sharpness, composition and separation of the eye from the black head. Sometimes beauty lies in simplicity

Yes, the hint of ocean adds a lot here. I do wish for more of a banking angle, but still a fine tern image as is.
The dark bottom of the frame and the tern's dynamic pose really fancy things up. That red bill really pops in this light and limited color scheme too.

I agree with all of the above. Nice simple tern in flight, and the gradient background makes it especially pleasing. Gives a lovely base to the frame.
