A friend of ours just about to get his final degree in piano performance. Used Topaz bright watercolor and poster edges . Removed a couple of blemishes on the wall (plug, etc) and slight crop.

I like what you captured. His gaze and posture are very dynamic. And the composition is outstanding. His head, the stained glass (???) piece on the window. The orange ball are positioned well in terms of proportions within the image, and they form a triangle whose base runs through the music book. Actually, there's another triangle -- the stained glass, the orange ball, and the potted plant that works effectively, too. It's all quite remarkable.
thank you! yes, it is a small stained glass hanging at the edge of the window.
I completely agree with Dennis' comments. Outstanding composition. Interesting processing. It surely pops and makes me look longer.
Love the bright sunny feel and warm colors.
Hazel, the above comments are spot on. I'm surprised how well the bright area behind the suject draws the viewer in, often times this situation ends up being a distracting element-it might be due to the subject actually being the negative space in the scene. Nicely done.
thanks, Randall. This was one of those surprises. I had thought, when taking the photo that I might have to do a silhouette look because of that large window, but had no choice of location. then when I opened it in PS and adjusted the hightlight/shadow elements, this worked out. thanks for your specific comments.
Hazel, I agree with everyone's comments - I love the composition and the bright colors and especially all the interesting shapes in the image. Nicely done:S3:
