Redstart (male) at pool
One of our most attractive migrants. They use nest boxes frequently but numbers have dropped massively lately. Done at my main woodland pool.

"Friends" used to come and use my hides etc and the front room window set up but strangely enough when they had got their pics they didn't seem to come again ! Very sad really.

Beautiful image John. Only slight distraction is the leaf above which could possibly be cropped out ??

Excellent image of beautiful bird in habitat. I like the pose with fanned tail feathers with very nice golden colour and details.
Would tone down the green leaf above the bird. Nice composition too.

Satish.

Hi John,
A lot to like here. The green oof reflection on the water surface is rather unusual. Nice intimate feeling. Agree with others that the green leaf is too eye-catching.

Great fanning of the tail feathers John, not sure I've seen a Redstart shot like this before - good work

Great John I really like the repost without the leaf. The IQ and exposure look terrific.

Really like this, it shows off just what lovely birds they are. Whenever I have tried I have not got the eye and the black / white around the eye right at all and they seem such nervous birds as well. We have a few around here, such a shame to hear their numbers are dropping.

I like the exposure, light, sharpness and composition. My favourite part of the image is the surface tension where the tail meets the water. Nice image John.
