Small crop and cloned out a small white object in the BG on the green band. I think it was a white post.I could go with a tighter pano but like the space.

Hi Gail,
The tighter plano would work well but I agree, the extra space in the present composition is even better. The connection between the bird and its environment provides scale and context that would be lacking if it was a standard flight shot against the sky. Bravo!

The large amount of space works because the clarity & focus on the bird is so perfect, Gail. One of the nicest shots I've seen in a while - well done!

Beautiful flight image of a spoonie... love the wing position and complimentary background.
On the lower third of the nearest wing I am seeing grey where there should be light rose to white. That typically happens with light birds in Florida if those areas have been clipped. Lowering the exposure they go to grey quickly. I think if you raise the exposure slightly the grey will go back to a soft white. If you do not see that on your display please disregard.
In Florida if the morning/day is bright and the bird is white or has light colors I use -1 EV and then carefully raise the exposure in post. Light birds here can clip in a heartbeat when the light is bright.

I like the low angle flight perspective here...not something we often see with the spoonbills, at least not photographically. Pink on blue always works like a charm.
