I decided to try something different with this very simple image. Was trying to enhance impact with the Gemsbok in monochrome.
Do you it is effective or do I dump it?
C&C welcome..

Very effective! Quite dramatic really.
I don't run into these critters normally, so I had to google it and see what the actual coloration is. Although I like blue and brown together, I think your monochrome approach was very effective. There's simplicity not only in the content of the image but in the colors. Definitely looks like a keeper to me.
I like the minimal lines in this image allowing all interest to the gemsbock. I do think there is a conflict between the b&w animal with the brilliant blue sky and tan foreground. It makes the viewer think this is reality and that a gemsbock is a black and white animal. I would like to see this entirely in b&w just for another approach. However viewed as an image without the concern of reality, I do like the all the clean lines and the crisp contrasts.
I like it. I would crop it closer, but that's a personal taste...Terry Johnson
I also went on line to familiarize myself with the normal coloration of the Gemsbok. The subject is nicely presented with the simplicity of the image.
Hello Andre, I think this works quite well. It is very different from the usual combination of color and monochrome, in that the background is color but the subject not. I find the monochrome makes for a very striking image. Good idea! I would definitely keep it.
THANKYOU all for your comments and suggestions. This image was posted as well on another platform, did very well? I wanted to dump it...
Appreciate your time.

Andre, I'm sorry I'm so late in commenting but it is definitely a keeper in my eye. Very creative to use both monochrome and color. I especially like the shadows of the horns on the Gemsbok's body:S3: I hope to see you in OOTB more often!
