Here is my experimentation in Nik Analog. Thank you Kerry and Cheryl for bringing attention to this program! It is great fun, and so many subtle choices!
I first converted the image to b&w with a strong emphasis on the black, then a reduced opacity layer of fractalius to further emphasize the lines, 2 trips to the Nik Analog program, then a reduced opacity layer of fractalius glow.

Hi, Nancy, very modern looking in spite of the Analog program:S3: Boat masts? Wind towers? Very graphic looking and I like it!

I like the highly-variable lines, the subtle colors, and the uneven border. I think my reaction was much like Cheryl's: It's not apparent that this harkens back to analog days; rather, it looks modern and uncontrived.

Nancy, I like the subtle colors and the variable lines and shapes. I must dust off my Analog plug-in. I vote for a forest of sailboat masts.

I thought it was a sailboat convention too. I like the overlay of all the lines. I might lighten the vignette in the corners a bit. Nicely processed.

Thanks all! Sailboats masts it is! The back story is that my husband & I were totally lost in Honolulu and trying to meet up with a friend. We had him on the cellphone trying to describe where we were. And this is what I saw as I looked around. I liked it so much that I took a few pictures before we got back to finding our friend! Jackie, I felt the corners were also a bit dark and had lightened them some already. But more would work also. I was pleased that Analog has the versatility to be more than just old-timey effects.

Interesting, minimal and pleasing. I like the strong diagonal lines, the composition, and the subtle colors. Excellent.

Reminded me of a very old cracked mirror at first. Can see the boat masts now. Like the effect. My monitor shows a light area on the left about midway. Other than that I really like the adventure into this process. must try it.

Really nice Nancy, and I'm happy to you and others exploring the possibilities of Analog Efex! There is so much more available to the intrepid explorer than old-timey camera looks! I love all the lines and shapes, they are reminding me of shards of an old mirror or something. Really nice abstraction!

I was totally baffled as to what it was. I am landlocked and rarely see masts. Cool geometric image and a nice treatment. I think it would also be cool with some kind of color overlay texture.
