Theme: Plantation House Window

I photographed this window in a Plantation House turned guesthouse while in southern India. The house was very well maintained and reflected the Colonial time period in every way (except they added showers in the bathrooms). It was a different and very interesting place to stay.

I used the Canon 1D Mark III with the HDR & art vivid effect. Then I used a texture called Gold Paint Swirl by EnchantedGal, blended and reduced opacity. A fractalius layer blended and reduced opacity. A layer of impressions color from Topaz Simplify 4, reduced opacity.

Hi Nancy, I really like how your processing brought out the patterns in the curtain and the wall. The geometry is very interesting too with that wedge of black pulling the rest of the composition into the frame. That blue gradient along the right edge of the window is really nice.

The blue gradient really adds to the image. Nancy - do you mean 5D Mark III?:S3:

Nancy, I really like the three-dimensional feel to this image, which the texture really enhanced. I also like the blue gradient. Overall, a very lovely image.

The strong textures, the complementary colors, and the diagonals resulting from the perspective you used all combine to make this a real attention-getter. I like the black outlining, too.

This is really beautiful. Love the shape of the window. The texture you chose is perfect for this image--it mimics the colors and shapes in the curtains. I, too, like the blue along edge of window. How did you achieve it? the only thing that bothers me is the black triangle in upper right corner.
