I have concerns about posting this image. I think it is interesting and unusual, but a bit (or a lot)ugly. It was taken before I knew about deliberate blurs; I thought i would just play with it in Post processing. Interested in your responses. Obviously, I'd appreciate frank critiques.

Hi, Kent, thanks for posting in OOTB! I like the solarization and the use of Fractalius. The pattern of the sanderlings is nice against the black background. I'm conflicted about the blue/green (which I imagine is a cloud) in the upper right portion of the image - I might prefer it to be the same darker color but let's see what everyone else thinks:S3: I hope to see more of your images here.

I like it. I think posting it larger would be easier to critique. I think going to all black would be an easy fix and maybe clone out the odd wing or little bits sticking our from the edges. Doing a blur if that's want you want would be easy in Photoshop too.

I like the colors, the contrast, and the abstract quality of the image. It's a shame the white border isn't so easy to see against the light background because I think it adds to the image. I saw it when I opened the image in Photoshop after noticing the distribution of the sanderlings. Some very interesting patterns result when the canvas size is increased and a duplicate layer is flipped and moved to fill in the added space.
