Weekly Theme: Reflecting on the Three Muses

Greetings. I've been busy with ballet photos (10K of them) picking and processing, but took a time out for the theme photo... One of the cool things about the Louvre is that you can take photos, but much is behind glass (even the Mona Lisa) with bright reflections of display cases and exit signs and the like making taking photos a challenge. I took this shot with the statues of the Three Muses behind.

Very nice perspective and use of the reflections to add to your image. I remember being totally surprised that you could take photos in the Louvre. Thanks for sharing your work.

Very creative, Michael! And I love your choice of the Three Muses. I think you could crop just a little from the top.

I agree with Cheryl about the relevancy of the muses. When I look at it, they appear to be discussing the subject of the image. It's nice when things not only fit together in the sense of composition but in context, as well, and you've achieved both.

Very intriguing with the juxtaposition of the reflections! You handled the situation very creatively. You might consider cloning away the small bright round spot in the center near the top.

A most creative image. You turned a challenge into a positive element for this photo. I too would crop from the top to eliminate that lighter rectangle. I would then clone out the bright reflection along lower left edge. The three muses are perfect--talking it over.

Extremely well tolerated.... Photos through glass is a big pain for me and drives me nuts.

Nicely done, I don't know that I would have seen or kept this image as a keeper, but I like it, and I like that it will have me looking at my iffy through glass photos more closely before trashing.

Wonderful catch and I love the processing! Good suggestions above.

Thanks much for the comments. I agree with the crop off the top & spot removal.

Linz, reflections, when they present themselves as the only option, become part of composing the shot. It's unlikely that reflections will just fall into place as an afterthought in processing.
