Your composition and the arching top of the tree are very nice. The snow-covered ground contrasts well with the darker brownish tones in the grove of trees. At first, I wasn't sure about the bent tree trunk on the left because my attention was drawn to it (perhaps also because of the yellow-green at the bottom of it). However, it nicely echoes the curve in the foreground tree.
The effect works well here. Would be interesting to see it with the snow outline of the bent trunk on the left edge cloned out or greatly reduced. It does pull the eye out of the frame.
It is possible to alter the effect in local areas, so it's a finer structure in places -- such as the top branches of the main tree? That might be interesting to try.
Beautiful colours, very cool effect Cheryl.
I love your filter work and the fall color palette. Well done!
I really like the gracefulness of this. It makes me think all the tree branches and grasses are performing a lovely ballet! Lovely colors.
Wonderful lines and colors. Wonderful shape of the main tree. Graceful and fanciful. I would lighten the tree on the left to match the bg trees on the right, and change to tone of the grasses at its base to be more like the rest of the image. Nicely done.
