Very nice image Anita. The snow looks realistic.
The blue, black, and white are great together, and I really like the white trees in the foreground. I'd be inclined, though, to tone down the moon some. And I'd ooch it to the left a bit for a couple reasons. Foremost, it wouldn't be in line with the trunk of the tree on the right. In addition, the background trees are lower to the left, and they wouldn't be touching the moon.
Thanks, Dennis. I always appreciate your thoughtful comments. I agree that the moon is too bright. I'll tone it down. Moving it, however, would be tricky. The moon was part of the original picture. All I added in the texture was the snow. Also, if I move it, the moon will be rather in the center. I do have a question: there seems to be a dark area around the moon. Should I try to get rid of it? I don't think there's a right or wrong answer about the dark area. My opinion is that it seems consistent with the large dark area, below, so I'm perfectly happy with it.Quote:

In a situation like this I'll shoot an exposure for the landscape and a separate one for the moon and composite the two, although it can be tricky making it look natural.

I like the moodiness of the image, and wish for no touching either. It does however capture the cold and stark feeling of a full moon image. I like it.
