Running over there right now, but I can't imagine that I would like it any better!! This is very cool!
I love the processing, just perfect all around. Love the way the background looks, neat, subtle patterns there. Great base image too!
This is quite wonderful -- the patterns, the colors, the curves, the wonderful background . . . I did look at the other version, and I like it, too. However, interpretations like this one is why I pretty much live in OOTB and don't much venture anywhere else.
Beautiful image, Nancy! Comparing it with the "in-the-box" version you posted, this one has a sense of floating motion to the feather which I really like. Love the colors and BG too. I might add a little more room on top so that the feather isn't touching the edge. Well done.
Thanks everyone! Always interesting to observe the points of view from the OOTB folks and the "reality" folks! As Dennis puts it, we can present our interpretation of an image here.
Judy, the bkgd was a black fabric jacket I found hanging in my mom's closet. I loved it when I saw that pattern appear.
Christopher, "floating" is exactly what I wanted to convey. More room at the top is a good idea but not so easy now with that subtle pattern there. Maybe I'll try a thin black border.
