Driving around the S Illinois area today, I saw this painter working on a beautiful mural. With her permission I took photos of her at work. Created this pano. Would appreciate critiques (hope the whole pano shows up here.) I am also wondering about cloning out the building that is behind and showing up in the photo.

Hi, Hazel, I think this is very cool! I like the pano and the story - at first I didn't notice the artist and I think that's a good thing - it gave me a chance to wander around the image and put everything into context. I'm not sure about the building in the back - if it looked more like a building I'd leave it in but since it almost looks like part of the wall I'd probably clone it out. Nicely seen:S3:
The extra piece of wall has an interesting effect of tying together the color and B/W portions.

Thanks. I thought the artist's presence gave it an on-going movement as she worked. Still debating about the building.
The presence of the artist adds to the image. She fits in nicely. I agree with Diane that the bg building has a bridging effect. Hazel, please give us a follow up image when the mural is finished.
Hi Hazel, nice urban art image. I like the story that is told, of the artist with the work in progress and the contrast between the colorful areas and the b&w. I would vote to evict the building behind, as I think it would give the image a cleaner look in my opinion.
I'm in the camp of removing that back bldg. I like having my eye stop at the top of the amazing mural. The parking lot foreground sets the scene for urban art. Well done on the pano.
Very nice to have part the mural painted and part unpainted. Also, to have the artist at work. Wish she had been wearing a red jacket. :-) I'd take out the back building, leaving the lovely curve of the wall. I'd also clone the top of the wall on the left edge so that the tiles on the top of the wall go all the way to the edge. Good for you for spotting this and taking this interesting photo. I'm quite fond of murals.
