Shelby

Here's my first scratch attempt. This was a portrait of my lab, Shelby, that had a black background anyway. I converted with Topaz B&W, then used Topaz Detail 3.
I added a final layer blending a little Topaz Simplify - Wood Cut. I had difficulty deciding how much of the background to leave in so that the pose didn't look too
strange. I also had some problems with the edges, but finally settled with this. Thanks for looking!

This is very well done! The dog I showed is also a Shelby -- our grand dog.

Greetings. I like the look (both subject and scratch). Might consider removing the few sharp bits at the top edge middle right. Thanks for posting.

Thanks Cheryl and Michael. Yes, I do see those bits now Michael, and I agree. I also noticed a few other places in the background that need to be blended.

A lovely portrait of Shelby and a good example of scratch art. I agree with the suggestions above.

Good job Cindy, it works really well! I would suggest painting the whole bg black except for the lower left quadrant.

I agree that the background needs to be painted black, Kerry. I thought I had burned the areas enough when I first worked on my computer. However, when I looked at the post on my iPad, it was obvious I had not. Lesson learned.
