Beautifully exposed and lovely eye contact here. The wing stretch as you mentioned is really good and the fact that the bird is flying into the frame. Well done and thanks for sharing!
Karl:
A very nice ventral view, with flared primaries and spread tail. Like that the head is clear of the wings. Exposure generally very good. Perhaps just a little loss of detail on the thigh of upper leg.
Cheers
Randy
nice pose and open beak adds to this handsome juvi.
the whites between the chest and upper leg are blown
TFS
Nice pose, head angle, sharpness. The whites on the right side of the bird look blown to me too. I feel it is too tight around the bird, yet there is too much room in front. Kind of a difficult comp unless you have more room. Loi
Wide spread wings and tail, and beak slightly open and all against a blue sky = magic....just a bit of a hot white bit on the upper shoulder
I love the diagonal you got here, and the open bill is a plus. Nice wingspread and tail flare. Some of the whites are indeed blown - perhaps recoverable in raw conversion? I feel the comp may work well as a square with some taken off the right.
Hi Karl :), Sweet bird. Sweet flight pose. Did some Eye Doctor work, sharpened the face with a 15/65/0 contrast mask, and then pulled the curve down as the image was overall too light. With the smattering of over-exposed pixels this one is worth re-converting and recovering the WHITEs.
I know it is highly subjective, but I really like your new crop, Karl.
Thanks Arti, looks great.
Thanks, Daniel.
