Osprey

Hello everyone, first post here...

I took this on a recent photo trip in Scotland. I've seen many great photos of these wonderful raptors exploding out of water and thought I'd try something different. Does it work for you?

D3s, 500mm at f4, 1/1600th sec., ISO6400, slight rotational crop.

I like the full up wing position, nice trout, flying spray.

Is in uncommon to get a good reflection on this particular type of shot, and I think you did well here. I can also see this without the full reflection, so that the bird details are more apparent.

Very effective image.

This is one he**of a first post.
Absolutely awesome! It works for me !!
Love the vertical with the reflection. I would move the bird a bit to the left so he has more room to fly into on the right.
Only thing I can think of to improve this would be to tone down the yellow circles a bit.
The ISO capabilities are amazing with that D3,

Wow. This is incredible. I've never seen a reflection of an osprey catching a fish. I understand Randy's point, but I love the full reflection and I'd be worried about losing too much IQ by cropping much at that ISO. Gail made some good points in her comment.

@ Gail - the yellow spots are flowers. You're not the first that have suggested removal/toning down. They don't bother me but it's apparent that they are a distraction to others. Useful to know.

@ Phil - it's not Rothiemurchus, it's difficult to do a full-on reflection shot there.

I'm based in the UK - Leicestershire to be more precise. Here's the pre-crop version, but with the yellow spots softened as per Gail's suggestion.
