I know its a pretty common bird but it was taken with my new Nikon D800E. After 2 D800 bodies that wouldn't or couldn't focus well, I'd read that the D800E images were jut a bit sharper, so I traded in the D800 for the E model. Richard Stern and I were crossing a causeway, searching for any few rarities but the tides were against us most of the day. This DC Cormorant, gave us a look. Using my 70-200 with a 1.4 TC at 30-40 feet I quite pleased with the sharpness. Cropped about 50%. Thanks Richard for helping me with the White-rumped Sandpiper and Nelson's Sparrow. With those 2 my Big Year total is, 412 species for the year. p.s. Can anyone tell me why I can't use the enter key to go to a new line???
