Love the calling pose with nice eye contact. The green water is beautiful; I'd actually like to see a little more of it at the bottom of the frame. I'm working off of a laptop but it looks like there's a slight blue cast. You've got a very impressive portfolio of Great Crested Grebes!
Nice addition to your collection of grebe images, Frank. Love the open bill. I see some slight artifacts (prob from sharpening) above the head and beak, nothing major.

Great subject animation. Enjoy the details, especially the inside the mouth details, and the plumage at this age is striking. I actually prefer the colors of the OP, but honestly either version works.
