A little while back, I posted this little jewel returning to this perch from the left. As mentioned previously, he would dive off in all directions, grab a meal and return to this perch. In this, he had taken off directly away from the perch, and this is the moment he touched down. Notice the tiny catch in the beak.

Exquisite timing..! I have tried long and hard to catch Bee Eaters returning to a branch after a catch. I noticed that they often return to the same branch after a catch, but I have nothing really good to show for it so far. I would tone down the branch? a little more and maybe crop a little more from the bottom..

I can see many different crop suggestions with this image and I guess it all boils down to personal taste.
For myself, I would take some off the left and bottom.
Love the wing position and the light and the texture of the perch.

Super light and wing position. I'd take off from bottom and left if it were mine.
Thanks a stack for all the feedback. Here is a version with space taken off the left and bottom. I then decided to take some off the right too.

Another nice KF shot Stuart. You capture great color on these little beauties. The exposure and details look great. The perch is almost as nice as the subject and I like the r/p best in the way of comp. Very well done.
Gorgeous. The light quality is superb and the bird's pose matches that in spades. I liked the breathing room on the left hand side in the original, mostly due to the head and body angle of the kingfisher....other than that, the repost is top notch.

Superb - no brilliant! I like both versions, the first shows off his small size rather well. Not only is it a beautiful pose it is lit just perfectly, the light is absolutely super.
I like the raised wings, catch, IQ, perch has lots of character and repost looks great. Well done Stuart!
