Lyle, you have made this species shine!
Cool grass perch, wish the blade of grass was not in the BG right behind, but pretty minor.
If you have the space, I think the bird would look nice moved to the right.
Agree with moving the subject a bit to the right.
the dark green OOF vegetation is a distraction.
Lovely pose and light on this one. I like your perch and the green BG. I don't find the dark green a big distraction. I would definitely move this bird to the right (out of the center) or go vertical. I am wondering whether you did a lot of NR on your bird b/c I am seeing a lack of details in your feathers. They are looking a bit smooth to my eyes.
Great shot.
Very nice pose, I really like the perch, great background, and nice soft light.
I agree a tad to centered.
Well done.
Lyle:
Good comments from above. I like the pose, grip on veg, angle in frame.
Do think the comp can be tweaked as mentioned above.
The bg does look a bit peculiar. Certainly possible as shot, but I have seen that look when I have overdone the post processing trying to reduce the impact of the bg on the bird. I have seen this esp. in Nik Color Efex pro when I try to reduce the contrast of the bg.
Can you share your post processing on this one?
Cheers
Randy
Beautiful little bird and a nice scene you have here. I love the colors and the pose on this one. I agree with the others.
This is one of those funny shots that you can look at a few times and sometimes it looks sharp and sometimes it looks a little off.
I like the composition also. Nice job getting this beautiful little species
The pano look works remarkably well here, I only wish you had pointed your lens more to the left (or cropped as such). The light coming from your left has given you a neat effect.
I love the details on this one, the composition works nice for me
nice colours and great greens all around making it nice on the eye.
