This image was taken on the Welsh Island of Skomer a sea bird haven. The gull was standing in a field of Pink campion which cover the island this time of year and Foxgloves
Shot using Canon 5d mk3 and my trusty 400mm f5.6 @f9, 1/800 at ISO 1250 +0.3
Excellent composition with beautiful pink flowers. Love the gull and it's placement in the frame.
How about vertical composition?

Lovely environmental image. I like the horizontal comp personally, with the gull looking over his garden, but I could imagine the gull a little to the right, maybe around the 1/3 point.
This is excellent. I like everything about the image.

Thanks for the replies, I take on board the comments re composition and could go with a vertical crop,what with the gulls body shape and the length of the fox gloves all helping with that.But decided that the impact the flowers had helped more in this instance.
I love the contrast here. Love the idea of going wider.
