Thanks to all those who commented on my previous image.
With branches & bows stacked up above the Little owl, he has found a perch in which to lay in wait, concealed very nicely. Not ideal, as it puts him into the shadows, however he managed to position himself quite nicely IMHO, in terms of the BKG. I wanted the effect of the bows above to give the impression they are pushing down on him, not sure, but just my take. :S3:

Interesting composition, and yes you get the sense of him being squished down. I would still be tempted to crop out the uppermost limb. His pose and the remaining branches would still give the effect you talked about, but allow more focus on the bird.
IMO
Cheers

Love the capture, and the sneaky look. Not too crazy about the uppermost branch, but otherwise very nice.

Lovely capture of the owl, i love the soft feathers good details on it.
I agree with Randy on the removing of the top branch may be, it may just place the bird higher in the frame , retain the feel of it under the wood and also to my eye align the eyes more better tot he frame.
(oops i realised this when i constructed the above i may like the bird if the above is done then slightly to the right )
That may be like framing the bird with the branches :)
Sweet owl and a interesting composition

The more I look at it hte more I am fine with the upper branch. Unique image, I like the hunkered-down pose as if it is seeking refuge or protection from those branches.

You really got the owl in his element. You can really tell something has his attention. I think it's a very nice behavior shot.
