This Ash-throated Flycatcher paused briefly before delivering the butterfly (California Sister) to some chicks in the nest. The background is a sun-drenched hillside; the bird was in shade.

Love this Steve. Great capture of a great capture:) I really like how the bird and the butterfly share the same colors. I also like the bg. I would have liked a little more dof for the perch but very nice as presented.

That looks awesome! Great job with the techs. You could apply a bit more sharpening to the perch itself. A winner for sure.

Steve ,I am just thinking whether the butterfly is his food or ornament?Excellent image with great IQ.
Love the beautiful colors, pose, his stare, catch light, perch and backdrop.Vertical composition does look very nice, however it will superb in 2x3 format.

Satish.

This is wonderful -- all has been said -- color palette is great! What would you think about trimming a little off the top? (Was that what Satish meant?)
I'm not so sure about sharpening the perch -- that might compete with the bird. It is very interesting and detailed enough, to me eye.

Such an artistic shot. I love all the complementary colors and the butterfly in the beak takes this over the top. A very pleasing image to view and a wallhanger for sure.

Wow on getting the butterfly in the bird's beak!!! More DOF would have been nice. I would sharpen the perch and head a little more.

A lot to like, not just food, but nicely colored food in it's beak, sharp detail, exposure all working well, only thing to wish for would of been slightly deeper dof....but as it is is really very good as the main subject is the birds head region...beautiful image Steve

Wow, wow, wow! Techs perfect along with a sweet background and killer head and butterfly positions. Plus the butterfly was in perfect condition until it met the flycatcher but it still looks nearly pristine. Way to go.
