Just picked up my new setup from Canon Malaysia. I went out with friends in the last few days testing the new gear. I got a taste of the shooting style here in South East Asia once again. We are spoiled back in Florida with the flat land and great light.
No NR applied and at 1600, it is clean, amazing. Also, the sharpness of the new TC is great.
I am looking forward to learning more about this combo.

what a bird! you have got a lovely pose here with good BG.
A quick re-post with the perch toned down a bit, USM & a bit of contrast.

Lovely image, Troy, but agree with the adjustments made in the RP. The head in the OP needed some more sharpening and the RP really makes the image pop. Congrats on the near gear.

Terrific shot.
I really like the dark background, great pose, nice details, and well composed.
Repost looks much better.
Well done.

I've not seen one of these as of yet, but I believe they tend to stick to the shady parts of the forest ...so great image to get especially a nice side on profile pose.. Nicely fills the frame and the re post has lifted it just a bit more, but it was already very good

Beautiful bird, and the dark BG with faint colouring to it looks very nice. I like the toned-down texture to the perch on the repost. You could try a version with some cropped from the bottom, enough to hide the gap between perch and edge. Congrats on the new combo!!
