Attractive little fellow, sharp, nice catchlight.
The darker areas on the bird show some noise, which would be unexpected with this camera at ISO 400. I am guessing the bright bg caused the bird to be underexposed and needing considerable exposure increase in post.
I might try toning down the brightest spot in the bg in front of the bill, and perhaps blend in the darker area at the top just a little.
Cheers
Randy

Cool KF, love the very thick bill. Randy has offered good advice, I will add that a less imposing perch (IMO) and a better head angle would have helped. You did best you could considering the circumstances and from a boat.

Randy and Daniel have hit the high points. I like the colors of this bird, well done HH from a moving boat.

What an amazing looking beak on this bird. Lovely BG and bird. Would be nice to have had him angled a little more toward the viewer, but we can't have it all when we are out in nature.
There should be any noise at all on a picture taken with this camera at ISO 400. Could you please post your original image or tell us how underexposed your bird was in this picture?
