I was so lucky to have a snowy plover nest directly in front of the condo we rented on Sanibel.
They had 3 chicks and all were doing well when we left on day 4 of their hatching

Great shot which portrays a lost and forlorn chick (IMHO). Lovely low angle, composition and bokeh. the little mound adds such a lot!
It definitely has the cute factor, Gail. I would darken the mid tones in the bird, to make it stand out against the bright bottom portion of the background.
lol...love it .....sweet little chickadee and nicely presented as is but I would personally darken the whites a little more as his itty bitty little chest is lost a little in the glare. Love his little mound he's standing on like his own personal island in the sand
Lovely shot and a gorgeous setting, the colours are beautiful. You really have portrayed this little chick excellently. Just for curiosity I would run some NR or light surface blur on the background, the chick is plenty sharp enough but I think the background could benefit from being a little softer WDYT?

Lovely Photo Gail. The bg is very attractive. I spent 3 hours last Saturday and Sunday, On Sanibel Shooting 3 chicks. I heard there were 3 different nests.

I like the repost for exposure, but the IQ of the OP is better.
The tweek on the repost brought up some noise which you could easily fix.

It sure is a big world out there might have been a caption. Very beautiful and fragile looking chick. Great vision and execution on this shot. Your usual good techs and IQ. I like the repost better but as Dan mentioned it introduced some more noise. Looks like you did what i do allot, copy a copy. I forgot to say congrats on the new body too. Well done Gail
A super image in compositionn, colors, space, and the feeling of vulnerability in a big new world. Love the soft light, and fuzziness retained in those new feathers. Noise easily fixed in the repost. Beautiful work, Gail.

Hi Gail, lying low down has created a perfect perspective, and just love where the little guy decided to pose. You have brought out the soft plumage nicely, and overall, well exposed. Your repost does look better, but I would go with Jon's suggestion of running some NR on the BG.
