Been looking forward to this trip to the Smokeys for months....and now this. Over 5 inches of rain in 3 days.Took this two days ago, our first day of the trip. I did desat but just because there was a hint of blue at the top. Otherwise, it was just this grey. Still raining, but hoping for better days so I can have some 'real' Smokey Mtn stuff to post.

Super job on this, Hazel. The conversion enhances the gloom, and the wiper streak is perfectly placed in the composition. Just proves that you never know when inclement weather will be your friend:S3:

Hi Hazel, I agree - this is really an interesting image thanks to your creative eye. We all have these challenges once in a while, and it tests our creativity sorely to make something of the situation. You rose to the challenge nicely with this one, which could have been pretty ordinary but is not. The lines of the road and the utility cables work well with the curve of the wiper blade, and the two distinct water droplet patterns add interest. Well done!

Hi, Hazel, looks like you did a great job with the rainy days:S3: I especially like the water drops on the windshield and the wiper blade swipe. Very creative and I hope you ended up with better weather.

When you get lemons , make lemonade , which you have done. Very cool story telling image.

Great capture! We have all seen this through the car window and can totally empathize. I like that you focused on the water droplets and the water curve from the wiper blade and that the outside is grayish and soft. The addition of the car with headlights provides a great focal point.

You certainly did make the most of a dreary situation with this nicely composed image. Well done! I'm sorry you had so much rainy weather to put up with. At least when we were there during Hurricane Sandy the rain was a fine drizzle 90% of the time except when we went to Cades Cove it was heavy enough that we didn't do the whole loop and left after going down Sparks Lane. But getting to see the beautiful snow for 3 days in a row made up for it!
