This Cattle Egret quickly halted on the breaks as it approached its nest among the reeds at Intaka Island, a small wetland reserve in Cape Town, South Africa. Always enjoy photographing these guys at sunset when they return from their days excursion.

Hi Kirsten!
Very nice! Great flight pose with full outstretched wings & feet, and beautiful background. I like all the details, and good sharpness on the head, and tones in the wings. Nice slight diagonal across the frame. I enjoy this very much, with nothing to add for improvement.

Nice braking image Kirsten. Even with the directional light, no dark shadows and whites look good. Nice positioning on the wings. BG works well with hints of the gold color the same as the bird.. Well done

A beautiful image, Kirsten. In addition to the comments above, I like the composition here - the diagonal formed by the wings, the head turn paralleling the diagonal, and the slightly more room on the right of the frame for the bird to turn/fly into. No nits from me.
