It was one of my nemesis birds up until a few years back.
I got an ID shot back then.
This time I got close to one at Magee Marsh, Ohio.
It was a one day wonder there.
I met and had a nice coversation with Kenn Kaufman,
one of my birding heroes, (author of many books) which was the highlight of my trip.
Thanks for looking.

Excellent portrait of a beautiful Warbler. Excellent details with lovely perch & BG. IMO it would have been perfect if the bird placed a little more to the right of the frame. TFS

Nice perch, nice clean BG and the yellows are handled just right. If this is not full frame I would loosen the crop just a bit.

Beautiful subject here the yellow are spot on and he is on a nice perchwith a cleran BG. I agree with Jack on going with a looser crop and I wish you had just a touch more HA towards the viewer

This is one sweet shot Karl, can relate to having a nemisis bird, I have one called an Orange Chat that live on low bushes out in the open and impossible to get near to.
I can understand the thoughts behind having a looser crop, and compositionally it may look better proportioned, but as I've often mentioned....if an image is this good you have to flaunt it so I personally like " big in frame " lol
Yellows look nicely exposed, the light looks pretty well handled and lovely eye, simple small perch and smooth backdrop.....congrats on capturing the sneaky little " Cardassians { I watch too much Star Trek }

Karl,
Stunner! Lovely detail in the feathers and it looks like you nailed a photo of your nemesis!
Very neat that you got to meet Kenn Kaufman - and I bet that made the day even sweeter.

I also agree on a looser crop if you have it, but that is one beautiful Warbler!
