Handheld ISO 400 manual mode 1/2500 sec f6.3
I was out walking Barney hoping to get some images of whitethroats or sedge warblers but no luck, however this shellduck flew by. I don't usually have the camera in manual mode but I do switch to it when I think there is an off chance of something flying by - luckily it did. I also reverted to rear button focus but I am going back to shutter activation, using the AF button to stop focus. I keep trying but it seems more intuitive to me this way.

Not easy to get a grab shot when walking the dog and a duck blasts by!
Although he is angling away, the head turn back our way helps. Well exposed.
The details look a bit sot to my eye, perhaps a large crop?
Cheers

You're dead right Randy, the crop is just a little too much.
