Gave my new 1Dx a "proper testing" yesterday whilst out photographing waterfowl and came across these two male Mallards fighting over a female (wich nearly drowned because of them by the way..).
The 1Dx passed the test with flying colors i must say..:w3:S3:

Man ducks are pigs! Poor hen, but cool capture. I like how there's a glint in the ones eye even amongst the chaos.

Congrats on the new toy!! Man these guys can be brutal in their pursuit of happiness. Super action here, and I especially like the arched water trailing up at right. I also like all three individuals have a speculum visible. I realize the blue water is beautiful but I would still consider trimming some off at bottom.

Great action Jeroen! I like the flying water drops, visible hens head, low angle and BG. I would take some off the bottom as well.

great action you did well to get the heads sharp, usually in shots like this one or two end up being OOF. I would crop a little off the base and add a little to the top.

Super capture of this amazing behavior. You got a female and male head in view which is good and love the splash and colors. Agree with Daniel that cropping from the bottom will give you a more powerful image. As it is now, your focus is not solely on the ducks/behavior.

Hi Joroen,
I like the interaction and action, the 1DX is sure the best camera I have ever had too.
