Red Bellied Woodpecker

From a set up in my yard on a very cloudy day, these guys move around constantly so I pushed the ISO up pretty far to get a good shutter speed.

The IQ looks very good for this ISO, with nice colors and pretty good details. The bg is very nice

I could see a version without the stubb on the right of the trunk.

Nice display of the grasping foot.

Any noise reduction in post?

Very good looking for the ISO Joel, the colors still look good, excellent image.

Nice image, its very difficult to get a decent woodpecker image due to their constant movement, nice to see that the colors have come out really nicely and the High ISO does work very nicely in this case
The clean Green BG really compliments the birds colors very well and gives a pop to the image.
Agree with Randy on seeing a version without the stub on the right

Great IQ for such a high ISO. I personally like the stump in the image. It gives the image a bit more character. I would sharpen the head a little more.

Sweet shot Joel! Been trying to get a decent image of one of these guys myself and this beautiful shot urges me to keep working! As others have mentioned, very nice detail at that ISO. Really like the light and exposure you have here as well as the perch. Personally I actually prefer the image with the stump.
