One from a couple of years ago. Photographed from a blind I had setup over seed. All comments and critique welcomed. Trying to improve my processing. Have had mention of halos and oversharpening in some previous post.

Hi Michael, Really like the golden tone thru out the image also with a nice pose and HA. I do think the images is slightly over sharpen with a slight halo around the tail and the feather just a tad crunchy looking

Thanks Don for the kind comments and critique! Is this any better? Forgot to add in the OP that I used some NR on the BG.

nice image, good light, like the BG,sharp with good detail,if mine, would clone out the small branch left of the main perch.

Very nice light and background for this gal, wish it was higher in the frame.

Lovely fine detail and I like the head angle myself, like also the way his/her feet are gripping the stick, catch light in the eye is also nice to see. Personal tastes maybe, but I find the image a bit too warm in tones making the bird look an unnatural color. The warm colored backdrop however is rather nice and clutter free. Seeing as this was a set up perch, I think a stick with a nicer end would improve a little a this one had the hand cut look and perhaps remove the little piece on the bottom.

Lovely pose and BG colour. I agree with Mike about it being a bit higher in the frame and also a little extra room behind the tail if possible. Nice image!

Light and details are very nice. Sharpening is a tad strong in the OP, and better in the respost. I agree with Phil about the setup, when doing those we can control which perch to use so it is fun to go scout in the woods and fields for finding beautiful ones to use. Comp-wise I also find the subject rather low in the frame.

I appreciate the comments and suggestions/critique from everyone. My original feeling was that this a bit low in the frame and it seems that is the general consensus here as well. Correct as well on the perch. The setup was thrown together but this is just another reason to slow down my work throughout the entire process to better think things through! Once again, thanks to everyone for taking the time to respond!
