Migration is always a good thing as it brings many species through my area (central Minnesota) as they head to points further north. This past weekend was a good as I was able to put on the chest waders and wait for a raft of Red-Breasted Mergansers to swim close enough to photograph. The yellow in the water is the Weeping Willow tree that I lined up across the lake to make for a slightly different spring look. :)
Hi Mike, Great low perspective and I love the golden tones to the water you also have a perfect HA and the red eye is killer. I would have liked just a touch more front lighting here but to even out the light on the Merganser but just a minor thing.

Lovely capture, Mike, and you did a terrific job lining up the willow with your subject. You have a nice low angle. While I understand Don's point on the front lighting, I feel as though the duck's head is lit well enough that this image works quite well.

That's beautiful! I like being able to tell 'from whence the light comes'. i don't think I'd have the nerve to take my camera into the water!

Beautiful image Mike! Might rotate just a tiny bit to straighten the water a little.
